The MED Brief is an educational publication created by David Empey for physicians, residents, fellows and medical students. It helps readers understand risk-management topics and prepare for a personal conversation.

The MED Brief is not a separate insurance agency, brokerage, insurer or underwriting service. References to protection, policies, benefits and programs are general information—not an offer to insure.

Website content is general and does not take into account all of your financial circumstances, health, occupation, existing coverage, tax position, objectives or eligibility. It is not insurance, financial, investment, legal, medical or tax advice.

Using the website, choosing an audience path, completing a calculator or requesting information does not by itself create an advisor-client, agent-client, fiduciary or contractual relationship. A personal recommendation can be made only after the required facts, existing protection, needs and eligibility have been reviewed.

Calculators, career-income graphics, interruption stress tests and case studies are illustrations based solely on the values, assumptions and composite facts presented. Results are not predictions of future earnings, financial plans, formal insurance needs analyses, quotes or recommendations.

The website uses technology providers to host the site, securely process form submissions and store submitted information. Those providers process information on behalf of the website for these operational purposes; submitting the form does not authorize an insurer application.
